Dear Toastmasters and Friends,

1. NEXT MEETING:  We will be having our regular third-Friday-of-the-month meeting tomorrow, July 16, 2004 at 12 noon on the 13th floor conference room at 315 Montgomery.  All roles are open - We have one Ice Breaker speech scheduled! YAY!  We still have room for another speaker.  We need evaluator(s), timer, ah-counter/grammarian, table-topics master, word of the day, joke or thought of the day and Toastmaster.  Please let me know which role you would like to take.  Step out of your comfort zone and take a role you haven't much experience with, and I promise you personal GROWTH!

2. RECRUITMENT:  We have an opportunity to advertise the Speaking Network on Thursday July 22, at AP Giannini Auditorium from 12:45 to 3:00pm at the July Connect Session (which will focus on Bank of America's community involvement).  Please let me know if you can help staff our information table during some or all of the time listed.  Thanks.

3. CLUB CONTEST: Our club speaking contest will be on July 30 at 1455 Market St, Lobby Conference Room at 12 noon.  The winner of this contest will represent United We Speak at the Bank of America Western Regional Speaking Competition which will be held in Phoenix on Oct. 5.  All associates are eligible for this contest regardless of  level or progress in the Toastmasters program.  The contest speech must be 5 to 7 minutes, on the topic of your choice.  The Western Region theme is "Embracing Higher Standards."   We will serve a light lunch at our club contest, so I need RSVP's.  Please come and invite friends and guests.  Let me know if you wish to give a speech for the club contest. (It may count as a manual speech, but will have a "private" evaluation after the meeting.)
