Hi Mohan,
You do not need to add the tasks of project B again, after project B
released. When you check out from Project B again to a prep project. You
need check and select baseline from reconfigure properties.

Project B is new it do not have baseline when you check in the first time.
It cause the problem you need add the tasks. After you check in the first
time, you have proper baseline. it won't need task again.

Hi All,
Thanks everybody for your suggestions

I could sovle this problem, by adding migration task of project B into the
reconfigure template of project A's new release.
is it a brute force method or this is the way to add the the project

Now If I release this project and derive new project with new release value
, again do I need to add the tasks of project B?
If Yes , then what is the parmanent solution?

I was also trying the method suggested by Dan Martin of attribute copy.
But as the project that I added was already in the relased state, Attribute
copy is failing (I've not created the working project of project B)

Mohan

Mohan,

When releasing project A, what was the status of project B?

You should check your reconfigure properties\template of project A. - can
you write what folders u r using?

Regards,

Sharon

Couple of questions:
#1. When you checked out project A to prep, did you also checkout the
subprojects?
#2. Is the work-area of the released project maintained?

You should not make the work-area of subproject B relative, and try to
unmaintain it.

Also, please check "reconf_consider_all_cands" keyword, that could solve
your problem.

Hi Mohan,
I am using Continnus CM v5.1, I think you need to add all the task for
migrate project B, then reconfig the new prep project from released project
A . It should be fine.

Jean

Mohan,

Just "Using" project B under Project A does not change the Release value of
B. If you would have done a Reconfigure before releasing A, you would have
gotten the same warning and your project B would be empty or gone.

You need to copy the new Release value to all of the objects that are under
your B project by first querying for them and then changing one object and
then using Attribute Copy to copy the release to the rest of them. Then
all of your objects will show up if you reconfigure your project A.

Remember your Reconfigure is based on the Baseline which is your last
Release value and then included Tasks. Project B must still have Release
Y, but project A has a different Release value. You did not say what
Release value you had for project A.

Dan Martin
