Misc. Links
(Odds and Ends)
Trying to categorize things leads to the trouble of what to do when you have some scattered links that don't fit into what's already been established, but not enough of each time to warrant their own section. Welcome to my misfit links...
Schools
Halls of learning that I have attended...
Eagle Rock Elementary: I attended the Highly Gifted Magnet here from third to sixth grade. Coincidentally the source of a lot of my emotional scarring.
- Eagle Rock Jr. High School Highly Gifted Magnet: I was a part of this program from seventh to ninth grade. This links to the page maintained by Ryan Stern, one of my classmates from our horde of students, and is specific to our class. The official Eagle Rock High School page looks fairly dull.
- John Marshall High School: Eventually I got tired of being in the magnet program and seeing the same people year after year, so I went to my neighborhood highschool, JMHS, instead of North Hollywood High for their HS magnet program. All in all it was a good choice and I had a lot of great experiences.
- University of California at Riverside: Where I currently exercise my academic muscles as a Biology major. You can read more about this in the About Me section of these pages.

Authors
As time goes by I'll add more of the authors whose books I enjoy reading, but, for now, here are a few of my favorites.
- Dave Duncan: A terrific storyteller of both Fantasy and Science-Fiction. A master craftsman when it comes to novels.
- Kurt Vonnegut: Philosophy and wonderful, albeit often strange, stories. This links to the Yahoo! listing of various Vonnegut sites, as there are too many out there for me to chose just one...
- Douglas Adams: This goes to the Mostly Harmless Website, a large fan site. Please, don't panic...
Comedy
'Cause, hey, we all gotta laugh now and then...
- Monty Python: There are quite a lot of Monty Python sites out there. This link goes to PythOnline, the official website.
- Denis Leary: One funny, pissed off guy. There are a few pages out there, and this link goes to the Yahoo! listings so you can sort them out yourself...
- Adam Sandler: Very funny, and almost disorientingly bizarre. To repeat a pattern I like, this goes to the Yahoo! listings.
Beer!
Beer can be your friend, but I don't mean that yellow piss-water stuff, no, I mean Real Beer!
- Beer.com: Where Beer meets Philosophy. You can also get your own personal beer.com e-mail address re-router. Mine is "newky@beer.com", which brings us to--
- Newcastle Brown Ale: Ahh...mighty Newcastle...one of my top favorites. Smooth and tasty. The website is really cool as well. PC users can even download a Newcaslte Brown Ale screensaver.
- Samuel Adams: A great assortment of various ales, lagers and stouts. If I can't find Newkys around, I'll usually go for some sort of Sammy.
Beers I couldn't find decent links for:
- Pete's Wicked Ale: The brown ale is probably one of the best American browns, but the other flavors are generally disappointing.
- Guiness Extra Stout: One of the world's darkest and smoothest brews. So dark it's just about black. It's best from the tap, as the bottled is far too bubbly, and just forget about the cans. I've heard the quality decreases the farther you get from Ireland, so I'll have to go there to find out...
Utter Misfits
'Cause some things just don't fit...
- American Science and Surplus: Surplus materials at discount prices...all sorts of bizarre things. The free catalog is worth ordering just because of the sense of humor of the writers.
