Marc and Laura's Wedding, June 25, 1995

The decision was made: we'd go for the emergency backup option. Dashing to the phone (oh, has it been mentioned that we were living at Marc's parents' house while looking for an East Bay domicile? If not, consider it done), we phoned our old housemate Brenna in Santa Cruz. Would she like to be a bridesmaid? She certainly would! We told her she didn't strictly *need* to have a matching dress, but she said she'd make the effort anyway. Another problem solved.

So, the days go by and the wedding draws ever-closer. Two days before we were to go to Davis and prepare for the insanity, we found an apartment in Hayward. Laura's friend Clint, who had arrived a little early to get some socializing done before the Big Day, helped us to move in. And then, we were off to Davis...

...with a short stop in Berkeley. Amoeba Records, the greatest used-audio store in the Bay Area, was our target, as the DJ had told us that he had an extremely limited selection of "Jewish music". (Matter of fact, it seems to me that his Jewish music was limited to Havah Nagilah and Hatikvah, neither of which strike me as strictly appropriate for a Reform wedding. -Marc) So we headed for the ethnic music section and got a couple klezmer CDs (the Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band! gotta love 'em), then went back to the car. On the way, disaster struck as Laura tripped on an uneven sidewalk block, putting a large hole in her right elbow. We scrounged some adhesive strips, patched her up, and went off to Davis.

Continue into the madness...
