Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

We had a GREAT meeting today at 315 Montgomery.  Dennis gave a "Soft Sales Pitch" titled "Let's Talk About Canada" and Bob gave an informative speech about digital cameras, and what to look for when you buy one.  The Dennis led Table Topics so we all had the opportunity to talk about Canada.  We will be meeting next Friday, Feb 4, at 12 noon in the Lobby Conference Room at 1455 Market St - Sign up for a role TODAY!

The Area Speech Contest is coming up and we need to determine who will represent United We Speak at the Area Contest.   We will hold a club contest and I would like to find out who is interested in competing.  This is a real growth opportunity.

There are two types of contests:

1) International Speech - This is a 5 to 7 minute speech on a topic of your choice; typically an inspirational type of speech.

2) Table Topics - This is a new contest type for us.  It requires no preparation since the topic will be presented and then you will speak extemporaneously for 1 to 2 minutes.

This is open to Toastmasters of all levels.  If you are interested in competing with either an International Speech or Table Topics, please let me know.  If you have any questions, please call me.
