	Russian Jewish novelist Gary Shteyngart arrived in America at
age 8.  A rabbi told his parents they had to get him circumcised.  The
surgeon botched the operation, he suffered the rest of his life.  His
story reminded me of the guy in 'Prison songs'; Shteyngart talked
about it on 'Fresh air' :
