	'Mercy' takes place on New Year's (an unhappy man, a failure
in his profession, unfaithful to his wife, goes to their home on Big
Sur; she wants to celebrate, he doesn't).  'Tomorrow' ends up with a
New Year's Eve party (Joe's mother leaves his father (a bully); her
fiancé dies so they reconcile; Joe celebrates in the studio.)  'At the
dark end of the bar' ends up on New Year's Eve.  'The road to hell'
has a New Year's celebration story.
