It's a lot easier for Joe to do a show in L.A. - he can drive there or take a cab.? The rigors of travel may be more than is best for him right now, healthwise.

Also, the finances of doing a hometown show are quite different from doing one on the road.? Air travel and hotel for Joe, the band, the gear, an assistant or two...... it might not be feasible to?do a club date, a larger?venue may be needed in order for the deal to make sense, and the financial risk is greater.
