I have some friends who are fans of Joe Frank's but who don't care much for
Gray's work, and vice versa. I enjoy the work of both and can't understand
why everybody on the planet doesn't like both of them. So it goes.
For what it's worth, I was surprised at the amount of press Gray's
disappearance (and the discovery of his body) got. I would say "pleasantly
surprised" except for the circumstances.

They both do monologues, but that's all I see. The style, emotional
color, sense of humor are different. I prefer Joe's, but I've heard far
more of his material. But hey, you can't debate taste.

I guess I see a corelation that others do not. I just naturally assumed

if monologists were a persons thing, they would be aware of both
artists. I
think people who appreciate Spaldings sardonic wit would have no problem
understanding or appreciating Joe Franks, thus I stick JF cd's into

hands whenever possible.
Secondly, I don't mean to belittle or neglect the tragic death of
Spalding
Gray. The events leading to his decision to commit suicide were
intriguing
and I was wondering if anyone had more information about this.
Third, it was through this forum that I found out about Spalding's death
in
the first place. So I don't think that I am the only person who
associates
these two artists with one another.
