Moving around in help

Moving around in help

When the SCOhelp window comes up, use the buttons, menus and hyperlinks to display additional or related information.


NOTE: If you do not know what the buttons on the toolbar do, place your cursor over any toolbar button that is not dimmed to display a short description of the tool at the bottom of the SCOhelp window in the status bar.

Use the following tools to browse the online library:

hypertext links or hyperlinks.
If you have a color monitor, Hyperlinks or anchors are underlined, a different color, or both. If you have a monochrome display, hyperlinks are underlined. To access a related topic, click on the underlined or colored word.

the index and table of contents.
To open the index or table of contents for the current book, use their toolbar buttons or select index or table of contents from the Navigate menu.

the Documentation Library.
To open the Documentation Library, use the toolbar button or select Library from the Navigate menu. (If you have not configured your own home page, the Home toolbar button and the Home option on the Navigate menu will also open the Library).

next and previous topic.
To page through the current book, use the next or previous topic tool on the toolbar or select Next or Previous from the Navigate menu (To page through the current topic use the <PgUp> and <PgDn> keys).

the window history list.
Each SCOhelp window maintains a window history, recording every document it visits. To backtrack through topics already visited, use the Back toolbar button or select Back from the Navigate menu.

After back tracking, to go forward in your window history, use the Forward tool or select Forward from your Navigate menu.

the topic map.
The topic map displays important topic information including book title, current location, and a partial table of contents for the current book. From the topic map you can assemble and print the current chapter.

You can access topic map information from the toolbar, the Navigate menu, or by clicking on any top-level topic heading.
