Problems printing from the Desktop

You cannot use the Printer icon to print the Trash desktop or special UNIX files such as block or character device files or pipes. For example, you cannot print device files in the /dev directory.

If you drop a directory icon on the Printer icon, you get a printed listing of the directory contents unless the directory contains special print instructions.
