Ghost icons only appear on desktops. They are displayed
in these situations:
You select a file icon, and then place it onto a desktop
by selecting Get Out from the Edit menu.
A ghost icon for that file replaces its picture if you or
another user subsequently remove, move, or rename it.
You accidentally enter a non-existent filename into the ``Get out''
field. A ghost icon results from that error.
To remove the ghost icon, select Discard
from the icon menu.
