Administering virtual disks
A virtual disk is a set of disks configured into a disk
array to provide improved system performance and increased
data reliability. The disk array is seen by the
applications that use it as a single (virtual) disk.
Consequently, applications do not need any modifications to
make use of the performance improvements that come with
virtual disks.
