IBM Token-Ring Network Adapter series
The notes here apply to these network adapters:
If you are installing an MCA adapter, begin by installing your adapter and running your machine's MCA reference disk. Next, configure your adapter, then run the Network Configuration Manager to configure your adapter's driver.
The driver for the IBM shared RAM Token-Ring adapters has been enhanced to make use of adapters configured for 32KB of RAM, in addition to the previously-supported 8KB and 16KB settings. Note that the 64KB setting is still not supported.
When using IBM shared RAM Token-Ring adapters set to run at 16Mbps, make sure that the driver is configured to use 16KB or 32KB of adapter RAM. While the 8KB setting works fine with adapters that are used on 4 Mbps rings, a setting of less than 16KB results in very poor network performance on 16 Mbps Token-Rings.
