The notes here apply to these network adapters:

Configuration for these adapters is simple; you need only enter a few driver configuration parameters. In some cases, the drivers can read configuration parameters directly from the hardware.

For most PCI adapters, no special setup procedure is required. Consult your hardware documentation for more information.
