Configuring the Netscape FastTrack Server

Configuring the Netscape FastTrack Server

To configure the Netscape FastTrack Server:

  1. Start the Netscape Administration Server by entering as root:

    /usr/internet/ns_httpd/start-admin

  2. Access the Netscape Administration Server by opening:

    http://ServerName:620

Substitute the name of your local system for ServerName.

NOTE: If the Netscape Administration Server is set up to allow remote access, you can configure Netscape Servers from a remote system. To do so, start a forms-capable browser and open the URL on the server to configure. See ``Configuring the Netscape Administration Server for remote access''.

  3. Log into the administration server as user admin.

NOTE: At installation, the admin password was set to the same as the root password.

  4. Select the server to administer.

To start a server from the command line, see ``Starting the Netscape FastTrack server''.

NOTE: By default, the Netscape FastTrack Server listens on port 80. If there is a conflict on these ports, either modify the conflicting service or change the port on which the server listens.

  5. When you are finished, stop the Netscape Administration Server by entering:

    /usr/internet/ns_httpd/stop-admin
