About dependencies
If software B must be installed for software A to run,
software A is ``dependent'' on software B, and software B is a
``dependency'' of software A. Dependencies and their dependent
software may be products, components, or packages.
When you start to remove a piece of software, the Software Manager notifies you of dependent components or packages if they exist. You can then choose whether to continue or to cancel the removal procedure.
