Using the haltsys command
The
haltsys(ADM)
command halts the system immediately, without warning users.
If there are any users
logged into the system when the haltsys command
is given, they are logged out and their work in
progress is lost.
To stop the system with the haltsys command, log in
as the superuser and enter:
/etc/haltsys
The system displays the message:
** Safe to Power Off **
-or-
** Press Any Key to Reboot **
Turn off the computer, or press any key to reboot the system.
