Once LMC has been installed, the
Network Configuration Manager
may be used to configure LMC over any
XTI NetBIOS transport providers, for
example SCO NetBIOS (TCP) or Microsoft's
NetBEUI.
Refer to
``NetBIOS configuration parameters'' in Configuring Network Connections.
To configure LMC:
Install and configure the transport provider that you are going to use.
Refer to the installation documentation for the transport provider
for more details.
Using the Network Configuration Manager, select the
networking card to which you want to add LMC support.
Select Add protocol from the Protocol menu,
select SCO TCP/IP, and then
click on Add.
Select Add protocol,
select SCO TPI NetBIOS for TCP/IP, and then
click on Add.
Select Add protocol,
select LMC Runtime System, and then
click on Add.
When presented with the LMC configuration window, you
are asked how many connections (Virtual Circuits) are provided by the
transport provider. This determines the maximum number of concurrent sessions
that the transport provider will support (the default value is 64).
The value you should enter can be obtained from the documentation
for the transport provider.
The result of this is that the /etc/default/lmcconf file
will have been updated to contain the configuration information
referring to the new transport provider, system tunables, and
network drivers.
After you have reconfigured, and relinked the new kernel if necessary,
LMC will automatically be started next time you reboot.
If you do not want to reboot, you can start it manually. Enter
lmc start (refer to
lmc(LMC)
for more details).
You can use lmc status at any time to find out if
LMC is running.
