Share-level servers

Share-level servers

This type of server allows resources to be accessed by any user as long as they know the password for the resource. It is therefore not as secure as user-level security servers.

Resources exported by share-level servers will normally have a password associated with them. LMC requires this password to be specified in the mount command used to provide access to the resource. This will then be used when users subsequently attempt to access the resource.
