Impact on the non-IT Globally Competing Firm in Turkey (analysis)

The Turkish government is encouraging more widespread use of computer systems by levying very low import charges on computer equipment and software. Advances in automation, computerization and telecommunication possibilities have greatly supported the pri vate sector in becoming more and more competitive vis-à-vis foreign firms.

Companies operating in Turkey enjoy the availability of a very satisfactory telecommunications infrastructure which, among other advantages, helps them in their international trade and relations. Also, the truly professional aspect of computer services, be it IS consulting, customized software development, or equipment and software servicing and support, is encouraging local firms to invest more and more into automating or updating their already automated processes.

The result is that Turkey, along with its many industries, is becoming more and more competitive every day.
