(maybe a printer?) - I can not find this computer. It was Yellow I think. Replacing it is no problem. Now that its not being used as a workstation, maybe we should change it to a soekris box? that would be a purchase. We do have spare machines, and if I use one of the old machines I'd like to make it FreeBSD. We probably wont have the problems that occured last year. We do not have a printer for them that I know of. - SF should supply the MAC. > > Gate - Ethernet for their kiosks? - We have plenty of Ethernet (7 boxes total) > > ***Media Mecca - officially needs internet connectivity (we may just run > ethernet), need a Mac workstation with internet access and basic software > with FILEMAKER client (8?) - SF should supply the MAC > > ***Rangers - Rangers have their own router, will run cable from DMV to > RangerHQ for internet and DMV backend access. It has no cards in it, but has a HD and motherboard in it. I'm assuming this is the DMV server or a backup. - I have the printer - SF should supply the MAC's > > *** Depot - Macintosh workstation, PC workstation, VOIP, wifi receiver > machine, printer, hub/router > *** Depot Purchasing Office - they'll need internet and a router/hub and a > VOIP phone - The cordless VOIP will be set for them. - We'll probably need to purchase another amp and nextel for them. *** Should I email Marian about this? The phones that were used last year have more or less become peoples personal phones. I was yelled at when I mentioned getting it back for the event (Not literally and not by the person w/ the phone, by someone else that is allowed to "yell") - I can not find the wifi server for the Depot. I'm guessing its in the Depot still. If we get a tower like we have requested it would be better to purchase another Soekris box for this task as the LMR cable runs would be far, and on top of that, a pain as they always move the Depot after shade is built. - Can SF supply the MAC?? - Printer we have. - We'll need to purchase the VOIP phone for them. *** Shall I do this? > > *** West Wing - Internet, router/hub and a VOIP phone - We'll need to purchase the VOIP phone for them. *** Shall I do this? > > *** NOC - let's have a VOIP as usual (do we need a printer for any > reason?), > router/hub - I think we'll need to purchase the VOIP. > > Commissary Staff Workstations - 2 Macintosh's with basic software apps, > router/hub - We have these. > > First Camp Staff Trailer - internet, mac workstation, router/hub, VOIP, > printer/copier/fax thingy - VOIP we have for them - MAC SF Supplies - Gerlach has the all in one > > TOTAL EQUIPMENT NEEDS > # of nodes that need wifi receiver machines? = ??? > # of Mac workstations = 9 - I have 4 I'd like to leave 1 in the saloon for use. so really 3. > # of any flavor workstations = 2 - I have plenty of these. > # of printers = 3 plus 3 spares, cause I have a feeling that more folks We have 2 of the old ones (new 2 years ago), plus 1 brand new. We also have 3 of the old ratty many year old ones that are on their last legs. I dont think printers are good for more then 3 years out there. > will > find they 'need' them or some of these will die > # of routers/hubs = 8 plus spares (you know how it goes) - We should order several more. > # of VOIP phones = 5 (plus other VOIP traffic from ESD & Current TV) - We need 3 more > That printer/fax/copioer thing - Got it.. > > OTHER GEEKY NEEDS > ***Box Office - Inticketing will bring their servers and gear. No gear needed from us. > > Ok, That's it for now. > > Taz, can you please reply all with your current playa inventory? I'm thinking we may need about 10 more hubs. These seem to never come back after they are distributed out. $15 each Voip Phones were $50 each, plus sign up. Soekris stuff is abour 350 each for all the parts. First one will be cheaper as we have some already. (board is 172, CF card is 10, wifi cards we have, POE we have, we also have 1 spare case) we also should get some spare 12 volt POE as well. I need to talk to Ralf about this. Another thought is amp's. We have never used them, but being we are farther out, we may consider amplifiers for the 2.4 signal. These are a couple hundred each, and can be ordered last minute if we feel we need them.
