February 26 1994, 7pm. Come celebrate the Fifth Anniversary of
the oldest surviving GeekHouse: The Armory.

Founded in 1989 by spcecdt, crnivor, siona, penguin, and mischif,
the Armory held it's first party in february of that year.
For many, that was the first "Geek Event" they ever attended,
and though many threats of eviction followed, the Armory continued
to host PotLucks and Armory Parties through the years.

This February will be the Fifth Armory Party, and we at the Armory
would like to invite you to come and revel with us.

     	    ----- C O M E A S Y O U W E R E 1 9 8 9 -----

If you were at the first Armory Party, dress as you were dressed on
that fateful night. Perhaps you weren't there. Then dress as you dressed
as the 80's drew to a close, the Berlin Wall fell, the Macintosh went
color and the Earth Shook Santa Cruz. Perhaps you weren't even born
yet; petri dishes and agar will be provided to nourish your pre-fetal cells.

If you don't remember what you looked like, slides of that party will
be shown at the Cynics' Tea Party wednesday February 16 1994 8:30pm.

	---- A T I M E F O R I N T R O S P E C T I O N ----

What were the 80's? A lot of attention is paid to the New Wave
movement in music, to the Era of Greed and the destruction of the Challenger.
But the 80's were more than that: It was the Dawn of the Information Age.
The Apple ][. The IBM PC. Unix. Compact disks. The Macintosh. The Net.
Hypertext. All these things appeared to influence our lives in the 80's

With this in mind, bring 80's relics. Apple]['s will be set up with
video games, if you have some, bring them! A PC-XT motherboard will be
raffled off. Bring CD's of your favorite 80's tunes... or any of your
faves for that matter.

We plan to go late into the night, so if you want to stay up and play
Wizardry, Rescue Raiders or Lode Runner, (or even mau!) bring yer PJ's
and pillows. Pancakes will be attempted on Sunday.

Map Follows:

From Campus: Go down Bay to the first stoplight and turn right onto Nobel
Dr., which is actually the only way you can turn onto Nobel since if you turn
left you will be on Iowa Dr. Continue on Nobel until you come to McMillan Dr.
and turn left onto it. (If you turn right you will be in someone's living room
and The Armory will not be held liable.) The Armory is on the right in the
middle of the first block, #305. It is a two-story house, off-white with brown
trim, and an Automatic Yard Light(tm) with a bulb in it that I would change to
some interesting color to help the especially bwain-damaged find the place,
except that the color would be rather hard to see since the lamp hasn't worked
for half a year and we're too lazy to call the electrician to fix it, let
alone fix it ourselves. Humorously annotatted map follows.
