Local Conventions

KublaCon occurs annually over the Memorial Day weekend at the
Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, and grows a little bigger and a little better
every year. This is a fun convention with a good variety of games.
See the web site at www.kublacon.com.
ConQuest SF takes place over Labor Day weekend annually, at the San Francisco
Airport Marriott Hotel. In 2005 this convention was run for the first time
by its new owners,
Avalon Game Conventions.

This great little convention was started by Manny Granillo and friends in
2004 as a collection of ancients and rennaissance tournaments, and is
steadily outgrowing it's humble origins. It has now expanded to
include historical miniatures games of all formats and periods, and features
an amazing selection of games, an excellent flea market, and a fantastic
assortment of dealers superbly suited to our community's very particular
tastes. The event has a very home-grown and friendly feel to it, and while
it's still a little rough around the edges, it's always a top-notch effort
that's improving every year. If you have any interest in historical
miniatures gaming, this convention is well worth attending.
Another convention by the folks at
Avalon Game
Conventions, this one in Sacramento in April.
This isn't a local convention at all, but many of our members make the
pilgrimmage every year to visit this greatest of all historical miniatures
events. HMGS East is the club that puts
on this event, and in case you didn't know, they put on two other major
historical miniatures conventions in the same location each year, called
Fall In! and
Cold Wars.
