I've often described trying to find information on the Web as "searching for the diamonds under untold tons of [crap]"...here are a few of those precious stones that I've found...
Items of Local Interest:
These are things that I mainly use while in Riverside. If you're not in Riverside, nor ever plan to be, skip ahead.
- CinemaStar Luxury Theaters: A chain of really nice theaters in the Riverside and Moreno Valley areas. There's a complex very close to campus.
- Metrolink Schedules: The Metrolink is a series of commuter trains in the Southern California area. This link goes to the Riverside to Los Angeles route.

Back in the dark and dreary days of Organic Chemistry, I found these links useful. Now my efforts are yours for the taking...
- CambridgeSoft Chemfinder: Great source for looking up all sorts of chemical information on a given compound. It also provides numerous links to more information about any chemical in question.
- Aldrich Catalog Search: The Aldrich Catalog is pretty much the standard source of chemical information. Even though it's quite complete, it's not as easy to navigate or search for obscure compounds as Chemfinder.
Reference Tools:
- Hypertext Webster Interface: Just in case you lose your dictionary while online...
- Research-It!: Interface for accessing all sorts of research engines. Often a good place to start for any information hunt.
- Strunk, William. 1918. The Elements of Style: Party down with Wild William Strunk and his always hip Elements of Style. For some reason, in 1918 a man got bored enough to write down what he considered to be the way everyone should write from then on. Even today, English teachers become stimulated just thinking about it, so they think everyone should follow these conventions.
- Searchable Keywords for Animal Pictures Archive: Need to find a picture of an ocelot, wildebeest, marmoset, or sloth? Just enter it in and happy viewing!
- Sam's Publishing - Books Online: A good amount of Internet and related programming books, available for online use.
- Metasearch: Instead of using each search engine separately, Metasearch will take your search terms and set them up in every search engine. All you then have to do is choose which one...
