Red Rocks Amphitheater, Morrison, CO (7/27-28-29/82)

What can I say? Red Rocks!!!! The place is beautiful, located at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It had been rainy for the whole time, so there was speculation that the shows would be moved to McNichols Arena. Luckily, it didn't happen, and the only time it rained during a show, was on the second day, I think. Otherwise it would rain all day, but stop in time for the show. The Dead played a couple good 'rain' songs, including Cold Rain & Snow, and Looks Like Rain. The vending here was much more successful than Tempe. I made enough money to pay for most of my trip and I got to meet with Deadheads from all over the country. This is probably one of those places that really gets people from all over. We were lucky enough to stay at my uncle's house, (me and my uncle was most appropriate here) just outside of Denver, and there are the same kind of red rocks there as at the show. So, we'd kind of have that 'Red Rocks spirit all day.
