Frost Amphitheater (Stanford U), Palo Alto, CA (8/20-21/83)

Well, back to the Frost. After my great cross-country trip, Mattel fell victim to the video game boom & bust cycle, and I was out of work. So, why not go to a couple Dead shows? Nate, my room-mate was going to go up with me, but apathy took over. He had never seen the Dead, so he didn't know what he was missing. Years later, he grew to like them. I also planned to go to Oregon with my friend L.B. who was attending optometry school there. It worked out great since Frost was on the way. I stayed with Eric in Santa Cruz, and I got to meet his new woman, Vicky, who was seeing her first Dead show. The crowd for the first show was kind of apathetic, as there were plenty of tickets to be had, and not that many takers, so we were stuck with Nate's ticket. I don't know why, the shows were quite entertaining. I can't remember who went to the second show with me.
