Astrophotography - Comet Hyakutake

Comet Hyakutake

I took this picture on the night of Comet Hyakutake's closest approach to Earth. I used a Pentax SF/1, probably with a Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens.
My parents had recently bought a house on Partington Ridge in Big Sur, California. The dark skies of Big Sur provided an excellent viewing place - from there, Hyakutake stretched across a third of the sky. It is by far the most spectacular comet of my life (as yet!)
