I was the A/V tech producer on some sort of opera production. But I was way behind on everything. There was a crowd out in the seats and the curtain was going up in ten minutes, and I realized we didn't have a mic for the little kid who has the first solo, and the lighting was only half-done. Where was my sound technician? Hadn't I hired a sound guy? And then the stage manager tells me they've got a couple of people in the choir out sick tonight, and I have to fill in. "You know the songs. You've heard them, like, a hundred times." Curtain is going up and we have to go out right now; I'm not even dressed properly!

As we're rushing out, though, I suddenly remember: this isn't opening night, this is just the first dress rehearsal. We still have a few days. Why the hell is there a full house, then...?
