I witnessed the Russian revolution-- from a distance, initially. The Kremlin was surrounded by explosions and rocket fire. All the European intellectuals around me were excited by the end of the Tsar but I was sad-- almost angry, because I knew what was coming next.

Then it was the late middle ages and I was stage-managing a performance of some sort of wedding play, a slapsticky comedy farce about a wedding, and after the male lead said "I do!" everyone exeunted offstage-- prematurely-- and the orchestra started skipping ahead in the music. I was really pissed, tried waving them back onstage so the damn bride could say "I do" as well.

Then the King got all pissed off about something (not the false exit) and started ordering knights executed all over the place. There was one pair of knights-- husband and wife, him in white armor, her in green. He was to be executed but she offered her life in his place.

Might have still been part of the play.

I was interviewing a medeival occultist-warlock-doctor in his study. It was crammed full of freaky illustrations and specimens. When anything became obsolete he threw it on the floor. Also, there were old magazines, like travel mags for explorers and conquistadors. He had a huge cuttlefish in a glass cube above his writing desk, still alive.
