We had a series of major product announcements at WWDC. The presentations were done by the various engineering leads, dressed up as werewolves. I was babysitting my nephew Dalen in the overflow seating.

The crowd was less than entirely enthused about Q37 for some reason. Maybe it was because there was only a bunch of graphs of performance, no actual demos of the machines in use.

Then there was going to be some stuff about codec algorithms and the crowd finally got excited because that meant there was going to be an appearance by Doctor Gunter Gunnarson, our German-Danish math god, complete with Dr. Strangelove-like wheelchair. The crowd of nerds jumped to its feet in anticipation of making a standing ovation, but then the side doors burst open like in a courtroom drama to reveal Patrick Stewart dressed as Spider Jerusalem, and the crowd went even more nuts than expected.

I grabbed Dalen and ran for safety.
