Carmel and I had moved to Irvine, in Southern California. We were watching the Oscars. The award for Best Animated Short went to... I don't remember what the name of the filmlet was, or what it was about, but the lead animator/director was a woman who, apparently, was also from Irvine. The soundtrack for the film was nominated as well-- and the composer was also from Irvine-- but it didn't win.
