A mellow version of Lord of the Flies, basically. I and a bunch of other guys, all of us age 8 to 18 or so, were on a tropical island. There were over a hundred of us. I don't know how we got there but I got the impression it was voluntary, at least somewhat so. We began to develop a microcosm version of developing human civilization. I ended up being the one who invented and codified our monetary system. Other people invented our alphabet and languages, etc.

We had motorbikes, which we used to zip around all over the island at breakneck speeds. We never, at any point, developed any laws governing the safe use of the motorbikes.

After it was over-- I guess it was like some sort of international experiment-- I was interviewed on some news magazine show. Then, I invited John Cleese and his lovely family over to dinner at my home. It was not clear whether Cleese was the host of the interviewing show, or the doctor who had been in charge of the island experiment.
