I was in some sort of contest, like a TV game show. I had to dress up as a soldier in each of three different phases of Italian military-- a horseman from the late Etruscan or early Republic, a scout from the Imperial army, and a courier under the army of Mussolini. Each one had a different, but very cool-looking, uniform. Especially the helmets, for some reason. Now that I think about it, they were actually very superhero-like. The Mussolini-era uniform had a green felt jacket. Hm. Eventually I ended up sort of wearing a mix of the three uniforms.

After participating in war games with each of the three militaries, I went into a huge candy factory. A back room had been taken over by the game show, and in it they had three grand pianos, each one being played by a terrific jazz musician. Each musician played a jazz version of a TV theme song or advertising jingle, and I had to identify each one in order to win the grand prize.

However, I found that I was less interested in naming the tunes, and more interested in tap dancing to them. And the musicians were all into that; they agreed to tell the TV networks that I had successfully guessed all three-- I guess somehow they could deceive the network even though we were being taped-- and then the three of them started jamming together while I tap danced around on the concrete floor of the factory.
