Frequently Asked Questions
What is a typical Capoeira
class like?
Class begins with a warm up and stretching followed by repetition of specific
Capoeira moves (such as the ginga, esquiva and various kicks and combinations).
Each class ends with a roda.
When can I join?
All classes are ongoing, so anyone may join at any time. Please arrive
early the first time to register.
What if I've never taken Capoeira
before? Which class is best for me?
All classes are mixed levels. Students should challenge themselves but
go at their own pace.
Does age, size or shape matter?
No, all that matters is your determination to learn.
What if I've had a past injury,
can I still participate?
If you have been injured you should always consult your doctor before
starting any fitness program. If your doctor says its okay, then there
should be no problem. Just be sure to mention it prior to class, so that
we can modify exercises to fit your needs.
What should I wear?
Workout wear- something loose and comfortable, such as a t-shirt and warm
up pants (no shorts). After two weeks of training, Grupo Cafu Capoeira
uniforms are required.
