Thesaurus.com would be your best bet. The way i understood it at first was someone who is mediocre. That definition is not too far from what i found online. Here is what the dictionary says.
 
One who is somewhat cultured, with conventional tastes and interests; one who is neither highbrow nor lowbrow.
