There's a lot of activity on JoeFrank.com just now. The Realplayer
streams are all gone, and windows media player streams are going up,
with promise of more to come.

What lossage... well, Linux users and others who want to keep micro$hit off
their computers can try VLC, the "plays just about everything" player -

Thanks. Never heard of vlc. Will give it a try.
Mplayer will also handle almost all windows media files, assuming the appropriate codecs are installed. If it chokes on the asx file, just open it with a text editor and play the enclosed file url directly. I just tried the free version of In The Dark (remix), and it works fine. (With mplayer 1.0pre3-3.2.3, and every codec from the sourceforge site installed.)
I've heard that xine will play them also, but never tried it.

I just picked up the new Beastie Boys' disc, and it
features a fairly prominent sample from Joe Frank, or
at least a sample from one of his shows. Listen to
the album version of "Ch-ch-check it out," and you'll
notice that the sample appears right at the beginning
of the song - before the music starts. You should be
able to identify the show right away.
If anyone at Joe Frank.com is reading this, please ask
Joe to use this personality again in his future shows.
I think he appears in only two existing shows, and
that's a shame b/c he is hilarious.

Woot! Thanks for letting us know -- I hate Realplayer with a vengeance, so I
was avoiding the site. Now my workmates must suffer through All Joe, All The
Time.

I saw Joe reading at the Armand Hammer musuem today in L.A., and it was
great! This is the first time I've seen him live, and I enjoyed it
immenseley. The house was absolutely packed--and there were at least 200
seats. Jeez, Joe, you need to do a weekly LIVE show somewhere!

Message-ID: <1088155948.40dbf12c6e6c4@mail.fakepope.com>
I've resurrected Dan Abrams' Joe Frank Music Page and given it a slight
overhaul.
I have yet to go back over the list archives and add in any of the music that
may have been found since Dan's page was last updated at the beginning of
2002.
The URL is:
http://www.fakepope.com/joefrank/
Please reply with any suggestions or additions (or if you find a miss-spelling;
I think I caught most of them).
Beau.
