"Joe personally selected some favorite stories for these two cd's with diverse styles - monologues, dialogues, highly produced dramas, reality and comedy - from his entire catalogue of programs. These CDs are mastered from the original tapes created for broadcast" I didn't see this collection listed for sale on the web site. Is it an older collection or a bootleg? I send a message to the seller but I've heard nothing yet. We'll see... Have a wonderful holiday season everyone! Message-ID: <20031225033150.GA14911@jabberwock.hopto.org> Hello - For several months now I've been writing out a short description of every Joe Frank program I listen to. The list has come in handy when deciding which programs to buy and to recommend to others, and for the odd name-that-show question. The program descriptions are now online in several different formats, in case anyone else finds them useful. I've also added some rudimentary categorization. At the moment I have 133 programs listed, and will add the rest in time. Enjoy! And feel free to send me any comments or corrections. The descriptions are very rough at the moment - essentially unedited notes made while listening to the programs. Someday I'll try to clean them up a bit. I have been listening to him since his WBAI days. I used to catch him in the Bay Area, too. Only recently did I find him on the internet, about 18 months ago, and collected a bunch of his shows. I have 149 shows, not counting duplicates, all in MP3 format. None are from tapes off-air. They are a great collection for me to dip into. "Trotsky" still remains a favorite, perhaps because it made a real impression when I first heard it or because it mixes historical fact with invention in a clever and engaging way. How can we classify and describe what it is about JF and his work? Thanks for your work, Erik!
