For those of you interested in attending our annual Warlord and Prize
Tourney Sunday November 9th, here is a link to our event copy:
http://www.zscgeek.com/stdavids/Calendar/MadSlugTourney.html

A word of caution though- this is an outdoor event with no alternative
indoor location available. If it is raining in Santa Cruz, the event will
*not* happen as the location is all grass. As of now the event is still on,
but we've been having torrential downpours all evening and night. Be
prepared for mud, wetness, and other wise imperfect fighting conditions.

Weather permitting, we'd love to have you, as St David's is flourishing!
And in case you miss this event or rain keeps everyone away, we will have
our annual Winter Feast in January!

In service,
Lady Disa Thjothreksdottir
College of St. David's Seneschal and Webmistress

Subject: [Darkwood-SCA] EXTREMELY IMPORTANT -BOFFERS-: regarding Morgan Hill
	event tomorrow
Message-ID: <20031115071026.97383.qmail@web80002.mail.yahoo.com>

I have the boffers needed for the event in Morgan Hill
on Saturday (tomorrow), for some reason I had it in my
head that the event was next week, but I found out
just now that it is in fact tomorrow.

I am in DESPERATE need of someone to take the boffers
to them, someone who will be there at OPEN (10 am). I
live in Santa Cruz on campus. I can, if needed, meet
you in Santa Cruz somewhere early in the morning.

I can NOT take them, as I have to work tomorrow at 10.

I am very desperate about this, and I feel extremely
stupid, silly, sheepish, etc about mixing up the
dates...PLEASE SOMEONE TAKE THE BOFFERS FOR ME!!!

Email me here aisha.del.clanluna@ sbcglobal.net
AND also CALL ME TONIGHT, IN THE MORNING, 3 AM, I
DON'T CARE WHEN, I just really need someone, anyone to
call...
Antonia 831.420.0157

My eternal gratitude to the good gentle who helps me out...

Message-ID: <20031115213123.19545.qmail@web80006.mail.yahoo.com>

Greetings all,

Please disregard my frantic email regarding the
boffers. My tour (UCSC campus) was cancelled due to
rain therefore I was able to drop the boffers off at
the event myself.

Thank you to those who offered their services and
thank you to the autocrat and Milord Unknown (did not
get his name) for giving me much more beautiful
directions back to Santa Cruz!

Another mission completed...

Dear Darkwood,

The Baronial meeting is Monday night, Nov. 17, at the Elkhorn Yacht club in Moss Landing. Unfortunately, I have a nasty so I can't attend. The meeting will be at 7PM.

Thanks,
Jeremy.

Message-ID: <200311192113.hAJLDsHp031268@otter.mbay.net>

Okay folks; it's Shameless Plug time!

For those of you still undecided about your weekend plans, the War of Southern
Aggression is shaping up to be a great deal of fun; and we poor defenseless
folk in Koenigstadt are really hoping lots of you will come out and rally to
our cause--the cause of WAR!!!

**Please bring water to contribute to the waterbearers. Please be prepared to
pack out your trash.**

Here's a sneak peek at what you have to look forward to:

1. YOU WILL BE FED. The incomparably lovely Lady Muirgheal nic Cord will be
running a soup kitchen during the day on Saturday; and the cost is already
included in your site fee.

2. YOU WILL BE COMPENSATED. Mercenary pay in the form of cookies are cooling
on my counter as I write this. There is a *rumor* that a private donor may
bring a keg of frosty beverage to share with attendees over 21; but that is
unconfirmed and certainly entirely unconnected to anyone responsible for this
War.

3. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF FIGHTING. Planned scenarios include but are not
limited to:

     - Capture the Baron battle
     - Beach/Cliff Battle
     - Three-Wave Castle Battle
     - Getaway or Loot Battle (Woods)
     - Capture the Flag Battle (Woods)
     - Meatgrinder Bridge Battle

Missile combat and thrown-weapons combat will be welcome in almost every
scenario. This will *not* be an Alden-style war, but neither will it be hours
of hurry-up-and-wait. Baron Erick and Baron Achmere both want lots of fighting
and fun for everyone.

4. THERE WILL BE CAMPING. Fires will be allowed; and it's not supposed to
rain (as of this morning, Saturday's forecast was "sunny." Weather will be in
the 40s at night; so wear layers.

5. THERE WILL BE BARBECUING. For those of you staying Saturday night; please
join Baron Erick and Baroness Liesl for a BYO-Meat Barbecue and Potluck on the
battlefield.

6. THERE WILL BE PARTY. Hey, this is Darkwood, after all.

**Please bring water to contribute to the waterbearers. Please be prepared to
pack out your trash.**

Subject: [Darkwood-SCA] Darkwood/Tarnmist War -- Thank you!
Message-ID: <200311241850.hAOIoSHp004890@otter.mbay.net>

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who came out and played
with us over the weekend. We had quite a good crowd for a war so late in the
season; lots of fighters, varied scenarios and ideal fighting weather--sunny
and cool.

I especially wanted to thank all the people who worked so hard to make this
event such a success.

First, many thanks to Muirgheal nic Cord and Na'Arah bat Avraham for keeping
everybody fed--and well; to Hraefn and Caterina for their help with
everything from signs to setup and teardown to hauling out the trash; to Baron
Erick and Baroness Liesl for the wonderful barbecue and the great party
Saturday night; to Rhys, my M-I-C, and Eric Bjornsson, who designed the
scenarios; to Christophe for filling in wherever he was needed; to all the
waterbearers and support staff... I could go on and on, but this email would
get way too long.

It is always a great joy to host an event like this; and it was even more of a
pleasure to see how much fun people were having. I'm sorry to say there was
not *quite* enough fighting for His Highness of the Mists; but we did the best
we could with the limited amount of daylight available. ;)

Sorry to say, the war was a tie; so looks like we'll have to do it all over
again next year! :)

Thanks again, everyone!
