He has a couple of new prepackaged candy bar boxes. He says they really sell well. He also said that he can customize our boxes, but then the profits go down. Here is the information he sent me. Please take a look and tell me what do you think. Should we go with one of the prepackaged boxes? I told him I will get back to him later today or tomorrow. Please let me know any concerns or preferences. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year. As we start this new year I wanted to let you know about some changes in leadership that have occurred recently. Our new Committee Chairperson, Jon Price, has had to step down due to a change in his work schedule and an illness in the family. His wife Michele plans on continuing as the wolf/bear den leader and is working on recruiting an assistant for that den. I want to thank Jon for the time that he has put in over the last few months. Due to his work schedule, Chris Kroninger was unavailable the first part of this year. His work schedule is now back to where he can resume his volunteer role within our pack. Knowing that we are once again without a Committee Chairperson, Chris has offered to act as the Committee Chair, temporarily, as you recruit a new volunteer. Chris will be sending out an e-mail shortly with the time and place of the next committee meeting. I want to thank Chris for stepping forward. One of the biggest challenges that the pack faces this year is recruiting new volunteers. You currently are without a permanent Committee Chairperson and your Cubmaster will leave for Boy Scouts after the May pack meeting. As leaders I don't want you to have to carry the burden yourselves. Please take a moment during your next den meeting to talk individually to the parents in your den and explain how much their help is needed. We have several families out there that are not participating in our program in any way. Training is available, as are Chris, Joyce and myself available to help them as they learn the program. The position of committee chair requires them to chair the committee meeting once a month, approximately 1 1/2 hours. I would estimate that an additional 1 hour per month in follow up is also needed - this is done as their time permits via phone and e-mail. Many hands make the workload lighter for everyone. If you have someone in mind for any committee position, please let me know so that we can contact them and see how they can help our pack. There were 28 large pan pizzas from Pizza Hut. With tax, the total came to $334.11. I am not sure how many people attended last year's dinner. Kelly Mathews might know since she coordinated the dinner. I will bring a sign up sheet to the next pack meeting. I think it would be a good idea to have each family note how large their group will be. There is a large quantity of Blue and Gold dinner supplies in the storage locker. I made an inventory of the items and can give the list to the person responsible for the dinner coordination. The only nonfood items that need to be purchased are paper plates, plastic forks, and possibly napkins. Carl B. It turns out that the coffee maker is not owned by the pack. Bob thought it was nice to have coffee at the pack meetings so he brought his own coffee maker. Bob said we could borrow it if we need one. A while back I was at K-Mart. They had large coffee makers for about $25.00. For this price, I think the pack should consider purchasing one. This can be discussed at the next committee meeting. Carl B.
