Hello,

The pack committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday April 16 @ 8:00 PM. =
I am assuming the meeting will be held at the Kroninger residence again. =
It is important that the den leaders, or a den representative, from =
dens 1, 2, and 8 attend the April and May committee meetings. The =
person that will be the first year Webelos den leader for next season =
should also attend.

Topics for the next two committee meetings will include planning for the =
last pack meeting, getting volunteers for the numerous leader positions =
that will be available, summertime activities, and next season's =
planning meeting that will be at the end of summer.

I would like to have the committee vote on a few pack related purchases. =
I did not bring up the purchases at the last few committee meetings =
because most of the people attending the meetings will not be with the =
pack next season.

See you at the meeting,
Carl B.

Hi,

I would love to get your input on the Summer Activities. I was thinking =
that if we combine the Summer Activities with the recruitment drive it =
would be a great opportunity to build our pack. Here is what I was =
thinking. We offer the registered Scouts in pack 218 freebies to each =
event. Except for the Rain Gutter Regatta which we will charge $5.00 =
for the price of the boat. Then, friends and family are invited to each =
activity at cost. I would put together a flyer and mail it to each =
scout during the beginning of May. At the pack meeting we ask for =
people to sign up for each activity they are interested in. This flyer =
can be taken to the Open Houses for a recruitment incentive.

Here is what I have been able to find out about the cost and =
arrangements for each activity:

Family Camp
June 7-9, 2002
Mount Modonna, Santa Clara County Park
Bayview area campsites: Arrowhead and Buckhorn
Scouts, Family, and Friends Free
Coordinator: Carl Bolton 229-2577
Camping begins Friday after 4:00pm and end Sunday morning. Bring warm =
and cool weather clothes, camping supplies, and food.

Roller Skating
June 23, 2002 (Sunday) 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Roller skating at Aloha Roller Palace
397 Blossom Hill Road, (408) 226-1155
Scouts in Pack 218 Free, Family and Friends $1
Coordinator: Carl Bolton 229-2577

Family Picnic
July 13, 2002 (Saturday) 11:00am to 3:00pm
Oak Meadow Park, Los Gatos
Scouts $5 for Regatta, Family and Friends Free
Coordinator: Carl Bolton 229-2577
There will be a BBQ and family games. The scouts will participate in the =
rain gutter regatta boat race.

Bowling
End of July, 2002 (date and time to be set)
AMF Oakridge Lanes
Scouts in Pack 218 Free, Family and Friends $6.50
Coordinator: Sam Choi 225-2753
(I will not be sure about the cost until the date is set. The Junior =
rate is $3.00/game during the week, $4.50/game during the weekend, and =
$3.00/shoes anytime.)

San Jose Giants vs. Stockton Ports
August 3, 2002 (Saturday) game starts at 5pm
Municipal Stadium
Scouts in Pack 218 Free, Adults $7, Youth $4
Coordinator: Carl Bolton 2292577

Golf and Waterslides
August 24, 2002 (Saturday) (time to be set)
Golfland, 976 Blossom Hill Road (408) 225-1533
Scouts in Pack 218 Free, Friends and Family $5.75
Coordinator: Michele Price 226-9233
(The price includes 2 hours of unlimited golf and waterslides, we just =
need to get a group of 15 for the group discount)

I would like to get the times and dates filled in for each activity =
before the flyer goes out. I would also like to include on the flyer =
awards that the Scouts will receive for attending the activities, =
including a participation patch for racing in the Rain Gutter Regatta. =
What do you think? I welcome your thoughts, comments, and ideas.

Thanks,
Michele Price
